Software Engineer - Payment
A bit about the role
We are the experts in Avaloq's end-to-end Payments and Cash Operations solutions and maintain, improve and innovate the associated modules throughout all software layers, from customer-specific configuration for our *SaaS clients, the Avaloq Banking Standard (ABR/S) for the various markets, down to the innermost core development for each of our clients.

Become a trusted subject matter expert (SME) within your functional area, taking on a diverse range of assignments that will keep you challenged and engaged.
We’re seeking a skilled software developer who values customer interaction and thrives on crafting customization layers that enhance user experience.
In return for your commitment to this role, you will have a unique opportunity to explore your area of expertise within the various markets and to play an active part along the entire value chain. Your key tasks
- Design innovative solutions for new developments in collaboration with our technical leads and architects.
- Implement cutting-edge business functionality, aligning with the appropriate software layers and enhancing reliability through automated testing.
- Take full ownership of your modules, working closely with your team to maintain and optimize functionality.
- Foster collaboration with colleagues both within the team and across departments, building strong partnerships for success.
A bit about you
- A university degree in computer science or equivalent
- An interest in banking
- Excellent programming skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong client focus and communication skills in English
- Motivation and a collaborative mindset along with a structured approach to your work
- An eagerness to grow, learn and work on the various software layers
It would be a real bonus if you have
- Experience in the financial industry
- Knowledge of PL/SQL and relational database systems
- Business know-how in Investment and Trading
- Experience of agile methodologies
