Business Analyst - Service Owner
A bit about the role
We are a dynamic team of business analysts and software developers spread across development centers globally. We follow an agile process, working closely within our own team but also with other related teams and clients to develop new product features and maintain existing ones in live use.
The team works with clients and partners to develop and deliver innovative solutions to meet market demands and help shape the back-office landscape of tomorrow.
We are looking for a highly motivated Business Analyst who is interested in designing and developing scalable solutions for the financial services industry.
This job represents a unique opportunity to advance your business analysis and technical skills and grow your banking and wealth management domain experience. You will become an expert of Avaloq core banking software and the corresponding business processes in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service Accountability: Ensure the service meets market demands, is scalable, well-documented, and maintains high quality.
- Roadmap and Backlog Management: Shape the service roadmap and prioritize the service backlog in collaboration with product managers, software architects, and fellow business analysts.
- Documentation: Provide comprehensive service documentation that complements product documentation, including flexibility and customization options.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of quality in the respective service area.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the counterpart for the business development team, clients, prospects, and product owners, addressing questions, gathering market fit feedback, and conducting presentations/workshops.
- Sales Support: Support the sales engagement process with subject matter expertise and digest client feedback to improve the service.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support for customer projects and maintain existing functionality.
- Agile Environment: Work in an Agile environment, constantly improving processes and introducing new technologies.
- Interdisciplinary Projects: Collaborate on interdisciplinary innovation projects to drive the definition and extension of Avaloq’s standard product configuration.
A bit about you
- An experience of 2 to 6 years as a BA or a similar role within the financial services industry.
- University or technical college degree in IT, engineering, or banking/finance/economics
- Banking Know-how, ideally in the areas of Collateral Management, Securities Settlement and Reconciliation
- Good knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
- Open minded, team oriented and communicative
- Able to work independently and with guidance in more complex situations
- Strong written and spoken English language skills
