Tax Specialist (International Tax)
A bit about the role
- Provide advisory support on the tax implications of cross-border transactions, and structuring/ restructuring opportunities.
- Identify opportunities for tax optimization within the region focusing on permanent establishment, transfer pricing considerations, withholding tax, and VAT.
- Collaborate with business units, finance teams, and legal team to ensure tax-efficient deal structuring and address tax-related concerns and opportunities.
- Monitor and analyse changes in local tax laws in the region, international tax laws, treaties, and regulations to assess impact on the Avaloq Group
- Conduct due diligence and risk assessment for international projects.
- Manage regional tax initiatives, and projects.
- Support in availing tax treaty benefits, as may be available and necessary.
- Support Philippine and regional tax audits and inquiries, if any, ensuring robust documentation and defense strategies
- Support in Philippine and APAC regional tax compliance and tax accounting responsibilities, as necessary.
- Support and assist the Group Tax Team in administrative matters.
Your functional reporting line is to the APAC Tax Specialist/ Manager
A bit about you
- must be a graduate of BS in Accountancy, Business, Economics or Law.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Big 4 firm, or in similar in-house tax position in a multinational environment
- Preferably from an International Tax Team
- Preferably a Certified Public Accountant
- Sound knowledge of Philippine Tax Laws, global tax regulations, tax treaties, international tax frameworks (e.g., OECD BEPS, etc.)
- Sound understanding of accounting principles.
- Exact, diligent, solution-driven, goal-oriented working attitude with a high focus on quality.
- Excellent analytical skills, and attention to details.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
It would be a real bonus if you have:
- User experience in SAP FI
- Experience in the area of tax accounting IAS 12
- Additional education in the area of taxation and/or finance
